Donald (Donnie) N. Burns, Founder
Donald (Donnie) N. Burns is the founder of DnB Foods, LLC. He was born August 8, 1946 in Fond-du-Lac, Wisconsin. Donnie moved to Alabama at age 8, and would go on to graduate from Newbrockton High School in 1964. From there, he went on to attend Enterprise State Junior College on a baseball scholarship -- The first person signed with such a scholarship at the college -- and worked as an aircraft mechanic. Donnie married in 1964 and had two children.
Donnie's experience in the poultry industry started in 1969, as he went to work for El-Jack Poultry in the feed mill. As El-Jack Poultry became ConAgra in 1971, Donnie advanced to accounting and eventually local sales. Under mentor Gene Barksdle, Donnie moved onto national sales with the company.
In 1977, Donnie joined start-up South Land Broilers, Inc. as a sales manager; where within 24 months, Donnie took the company to the highest-profiting company in the chicken industry, according to Agra metrics. Due to his success, Donnie advanced to sales and marketing director of Spring Valley Farms in Anniston, Alabama in 1983 -- at the time, part of the largest chicken company in the world, Lane Industries. Donnie would go on to serve as sales and marketing director for Seaboard Farms in Chattanooga, Tennessee -- and later Corporate Sales & Marketing Director for their corporate offices in Athens, Georgia.
Donnie founded DnB Foods, LLC of Bogart, Georgia in 1991.
